| We came to see Oradour-sur-Glane, where a notorious German massacre occurred on June 10, 1944. This story is not well-known by Americans, and is quite compelling. The town was sealed off, the 642 inhabitants were rounded up and killed, and the town was completely burned down. This occurred four days after D-Day. |
