Château de Castelnaud commands respect overlooking the village of Castelnaud-la-Chappelle and the Dordogne River. There are documents referring to the castle in the 13th century and it changed hands several times during the Hundred Years' War. By the time of the French Revolution, it was in ruin. Now a private property, it has been restored and houses a medieval warfare museum. |
