| Pam relaxes on a bench in the park at the rear of the Cathedral of Notre Dame, one of the first buildings in the world to use flying buttresses (arched exterior supports). Actually, the building was not originally designed to include the flying buttresses around the choir and nave - but as the thinner walls grew higher, stress fractures began to develop prompting the architects to add the extra support. |
