Finland 2005

This tree-lined boulevard and park is Helsinki's "Esplanadi".  The statue is of J.L. Runeberg (1804-1877), Finland’s national poet and author of the Finnish national anthem, sculpted by his son Walter in 1885.  There are shops behind the trees on each side, and before the Esplanadi ends at the waterfront market there is a bandstand and a café.
