Midsummer's Eve has been celebrated since the times of the Vikings, and these days it is an enjoyable holiday.  People gather together around bonfires all over the country (this one is at Nyhavn in Copenhagen) and sing folk songs as the effigy of a witch atop the bonfire burns.  To see a short video of the proceedings, click here.
