This room was formerly the casino at Hotel Nacional de Cuba. In the late 1950's, Meyer Lansky and his brother Jake operated this wildly successful casino with Wilbur Clark as the front man. By the spring of 1957 the casino was bringing in as much cash as the biggest casinos in Las Vegas. Fidel Castro closed the casino in October 1960, nearly two years after the revolution. Now the room is a banquet room. |
