| The city of Pula is the largest city in Istria county of Croatia (pop. 90,000). It is best known for its many surviving ancient Roman buildings, the most famous of which is the 1st century amphitheatre. Known locally as the Arena, it is the sixth largest in the world and one of the best preserved. |
