The Hall of Supreme Harmony in the center of the Forbidden City was used for royal birthdays and weddings.  The broad flagstone courtyard is the largest open area in the complex.  The hall sits stop three stone tiers with an elaborate drainage system that channels rainwater through 1,100 carved dragons.
