At the center of MONA is this installation: Sidney Nolan’s Snake (1970–72), a gigantic rainbow serpent of 1620 individual panels of flowers, animals, birds and human heads that extends nearly 150 feet along a huge curved wall.  It is said that this piece represents the myth of creation.
